Dengan perangkat yang terpasang sistem pengkodean absolut, pengguna dapat memulai pekerjaan survey secara langsung saat instrumen dihidupkan. Sudut azimuth dan data pengukuran akan otomatis tersimpan bahkan jika daya dimatikan secara tidak sengaja dalam pekerjaan.
